A disgruntled NSW Solar customer writes to the NSW Premiers Office expressing his concerns to the changes on the “Solar Bonus Scheme”

Dear Mr. O’Farrell 

RE: ANNOUNCED CHANGES TO SOLAR BONUS SCHEME

I must register our dissatisfaction with the new government which is shaping up as far different from the one I voted for a few months back and is performing in a manner that I did not expect of a Liberal government.

Firstly “the jobs for the boys” mentality (Mr. Greiner etc,etc) seems alive and well....perhaps marginally different from the former Labor government but now the retrospective changes to the solar rebate.

These changes are immoral and will personally cost us – as self funded retirees - about $350/year. Our decision to install solar panels was based on the rebate of 60cents/kWh and a five year pay-back on the investment. Notwithstanding any claims by the current minister Mr. Chris Hartcher about the generosity of the replacement  40 cents – his actions are ill judged and a display of a complete lack of ethical standards and is a signal of incompetence.

It certainly is a confirmation once again that 4 year terms in NSW are far too long.

We urge you and your colleagues to reconsider and re-instate good government process.
